Safety & responsible use

We want every rental to end with nothing but good photos. These are the principles we ask every customer to follow.

On the water

Wear the personal flotation device included with every board — Florida law requires a PFD on paddlecraft, and wearing it is always the right call.
Always use the leash. In wind or current, a board blows away faster than you can swim.
Check the marine forecast before you launch. Afternoon thunderstorms build quickly in summer; offshore winds can push you away from shore.
Stay within your ability. Beginners should choose protected, shallow water like the Dunedin Causeway flats or the sheltered launches at Fort De Soto.
Never paddle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Florida sun is stronger than most visitors expect. Use reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and UV-protective clothing.
Bring water — more than you think you need. A dry bag keeps it with you on the board.
Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, headache, nausea. Get to shade and hydrate.

Give manatees, dolphins, and rays space. Never chase, feed, or touch wildlife.
Shuffle your feet in shallow sandy water to avoid stepping on stingrays.
Avoid seagrass beds and bird nesting areas; some islands are closed to landing during nesting season.
Pack out everything you bring. Leave every beach cleaner than you found it.

Some beaches, parks, hotels, and condominiums restrict commercial deliveries and equipment handoffs. We confirm what's allowed at your location after your request.
Follow posted signage at launches, swim zones, and speed-restricted areas.

Rinse gear with fresh water after use when possible, and keep boards out of direct sun when not in use.
Normal wear is expected. Loss or damage from misuse is the renter's responsibility — see Rental Terms for details.
